Reiki and Your Chakras: What Do Your Chakras Have to do With Anything?

in Reiki

Seven Chakras of Energy

In Sanskrit, chakra means “wheel”.  A wheel is a circular object, which spins around on an axis and can either spin quickly or slowly.  Your chakras spin in relation to your energy levels.  Everyone has chakras.  Within our physical body, exists a subtile.  Your chakras are part of a large network of subtile energy.

Reiki & Chakras

All living cells within humans, animals and plants have a sort of invisible energy.  This energy is visible to some people.  Individuals are surrounded by a light or aura.  The human body consists of sensory, breathing, circulation, digestion, reproduction and secretion.  The body has six corresponding charkas for these bodily functions.  Your brain and your whole being also has one chakra.  This makes for a total of seven chakras.

Your chakras are situated at the top of your head, your forehead, your throat, your heart, your solar plexus, your naval and the bottom of your pelvis area.  Every chakra has a corresponding organ in the physical body system.

The Root Chakra

Belongs with the large intestine and the rectum.  It has certain influences on the kidney functions.

The Naval Chakra

This chakra belongs to the reproductive system, the testicles and the ovaries.  It also belongs to the urinary bladder and the kidneys.

The Solar Plexus Chakra

This chakra is in relation to the liver, gall bladder, stomach, spleen and the small intestines.

The Heart Chakra

This charka obviously belongs to the heart, and to the arms.

The Throat Chakra

This chakra relates to the lungs and the heart.

The Third Eye or Forehead Chakra

This chakra belongs to the brain, face, nose, eyes, etc.

The Crown Chakra

This chakra does not have a corresponding organ, however, it is related to the whole being.

Chakras can be overactive, underactive or imbalanced.  Reiki can be used to balance the chakras for overall health.

The Endocrine System

Root Chakra: in relation to the adrenal gland

Naval Chakra: in relation to the ovaries and testicles

Solar Plexus Chakra: in relation to the pancreas

Heart Chakra: belongs together with the thymus

Throat Chakra: corresponds to the thyroid gland

Third Eye Chakra: in connection with the pituitary gland

Crown Chakra: typically is connected to the pineal gland

The endocrine system plays a major role in the body’s daily and overall health.  These glands release hormones directly into the bloodstream, which control all aspects of growth, development, as well as daily activities.

Physical problems are sometimes a result of blockages of the energy flow throughout the system, which is made up of meridians and chakras.  When this happens, this causes the organs and glands to function improperly.
